Greece and China sign off on major deals

Greece and China have entered into another four major agreements consolidating their bilateral relations.

The new collaboration agreements signed in Athens on Thursday, are part of the Greece-China Action Plan initiative which aims to promote economic cooperation between the two countries, and the effective combination of the “One Belt, One Road” Chinese initiative with Greece’s Growth Strategy.

Greek Deputy Economy Minister for Investment Stergios Pitsiorlas, and Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Vice-President Jizhe Ning, headed their respective countries delegations .

The agreements signed on Thursday include the following:

  1. Growth and development agreement between Shenhua Group Corp., Ltd. and Copelouzos Group
  2. Trilateral memorandum of collaboration among Shenhua, the Greek Public Power Corporation (DEI) and Copelouzos Group
  3. Memorandum of collaboration between China Development Bank and ADMIE, the independent power transmission operator
  4. Memorandum of strategic collaboration among China Development Bank, Mytilineos Group, and the China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd (NFC)

The next Greece-China Action Plan meeting will take place in Beijing.
