Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said in a tweet that an embassy will be opening in the West African country of Senegal and that the Foreign Ministry will adopt French as a second foreign language.
When explaining in a Twitter thread how French will become the “second basic language” of the Greek Foreign Ministry (after English), he said “It does not mean that we are wronging other languages. We want it for specific reasons.”
“That is why we are choosing it, that is why we are opening an embassy in French-speaking Africa, in Senegal,” he added.
