EC: Cyprus’ GDP Expected to Reach 3.3% in 2019 
Cyprus’ GDP growth is expected to reach 3.8% in 2018 following 4.2% in 2017, according to the winter interim economic forecast, issued today by the European Commission. According to the forecast GDP growth is expected at 3.3% in 2019
 
 
Paphos is Again the Champion in Sales to Overseas Property Buyers and Investors for 2019 
Paphos is once again in the lead in purchase contracts by foreign buyers (Europeans and other Non- Europeans) recorded at the Department of Land and Registry by 44.0% in comparison to Limassol which follows with 23.8%.Larnaca 3rd with 16.8% and lastly Nicosia with 9.5% and Famagusta with just 5.7%.
 
Geroskipou to Host Paphos’ Satellite Casino 
Geroskipou is to host the satellite casino of coastal Paphos following the refusal by town mayor Phaedon Phaedonos to approve the site originally selected by the private investors. It is expected to be in operation within 2019.
 
Tourist Arrivals up by 8% in January Due to Increase in UK Flow 
The significant increase in arrivals mainly from the United Kingdom has boosted tourist arrivals in Cyprus in January 2019. The Travelers Survey conducted by the Statistical Service of Cyprus and published on Monday, showed that arrivals of tourists in January 2019 reached 81,970 compared to 75,867 in January 2018, recording an increase of 8.0% and were the highest ever recorded in January.

The launch of Hellas Sat 4 communication satellite opens a new chapter in the space history for Cyprus and Greece, Minister of Communications Vassiliki Anastasiadou has said from the Kourou Space Centre in French Guiana, where Hellas Sat 4 successfully launched last night.
