First in the Rankings of Greek Academics is the Rector of Neapolis University, Professor Spyros Makridakis
The Rector of the University of Neapolis, Paphos, professor Spyros Makridakis, has come first in the rankings of 10 Greek scientists serving in Cypriot Universities.
This information comes from the recent book of the eminent doctor, professor at the University of Stanford, John Ioannidis, with the successful title Tractatus for the sixth reputation (ed. 2016 Cedar). In the 358-page book, the prolific and active researcher includes a Table of Greek scientists with greatest influence in the scientific literature. In this table he includes 714 Greek scientists, of which 681 are alive and 33 have completed their life on earth, while also providing the following interesting fact: Although Greeks account for just 0.2% on a worldwide level, they constitute 3% of the top scientists worldwide. Most of them however, have hardly, or not at all, been heard of in Greece, so the presentation of this data, with many interesting details and above all with their ranking on a worthy global scale is of particular interest. Below is the table with the top 10 Greek scholars who work in Universities in Cyprus.
